Journal entry by Marsha Pitts-Phillips —
Earle will be starting his third week of cardiac rehab tomorrow (amazing!) and he continues to make wonderful progress!
He's realizing this isn't a sprint, not even a marathon, but more like TRAINING for a marathon. But it is incredible to observe him at the cardiac rehab center. The team is very attentive to Earle when he is on the exercise bike, treadmill and now, stretching and mild strength training.
Every day is a precious gift, to be lived with gratitude.
Gratitude to our Most High God.
Gratitude for those He put in our lives to help us through challenges.
Gratitude for the realization that life is to be experienced as fully as we are capable.
Gratitude for the prayers of the righteous that availeth much...
Gratitude for milestones: Earle and I sometimes sit together quietly and reflect on this journey; reflect on the simple things such as still having the opportunity to hold each other's hand. Sitting at the kitchen table having breakfast or dinner together.
We're also excited for what's next. New approaches to how we live our lives.
What does God have in store for Earle? How will He guide Earle to use his experience?
We shall see...
Many of you have asked about calling or visiting; Earle would love to hear from or have short visits with you.
Love and peace to our wonderful village,
Earle and Marsha
