Drew’s Story

Site created on October 17, 2019

Welcome to our CaringBridge website.  Drew was in an accident and suffered from a traumatic brain injury.  The CT scan showed a subdural hematoma and fractured skull.  The hematoma placed compression on the brain, shifting it midline 10mm.  A craniectomy was preformed to remove the hematoma, and to allow for swelling, they will wait about 12 weeks before replacing his skull.  Drew’s very lucky to be with us today.  He’s an amazing husband and father and working so hard to get back home to us.  We are using this website to keep family and friends updated in one place.  We appreciate your support, words of hope, and prayers.

Drew had is bone flap replaced today.  His surgery went perfect and he’s recovering in ICU!  Dr. Krajlic (his surgeon) said if he continues to recover well, he’ll get out of the ICU today and transfer to the surgical unit.  4-6 weeks and he’ll be able to return back to work.
