Happy Easter Everyone!
We have great news to share.
Drew had his final appointment with the orthopedic doctor last week. They did a X-ray and a MRI. The femur has completely healed and there is no damage to his ligaments. All he has now is 4 to 6 weeks of physical therapy to strengthen is leg and lower body. He is able to walk without the assistance of the walker and he only has to wear a small knee brace till his PT is completed.
More great news! We also met with a PA from the neurology department at Gillette Hospital and they did a CT scan. Drew’s subdural hematoma’s have completely healed. The skull fracture is very close, about 4 more weeks and this should be completely healed also.
The last hurdle is an evaluation with his therapy coordinator. This will determine how soon he can resume normal activities such as exercising, driving, etc… and maybe a little baseball.
Drew has been a trouper during these last 2 months. Marion and I are so proud of him. He has never complained during his numerous therapy sessions. He has worked hard and it shows with his progress. He is now back in school full time all day. So far with no issues. This Sunday, he will serving his first mass at St. Nicholas. Drew is on his way to being back to normal.
Thank you all again for all support and prayers these last 2 months. We could have not have made it through this without you.
Have a blessed Easter season!
Drew, Marion & Todd
