Quick update on Dad's progress and family fun!
September 21, 2021 has come and past. 2 Years since the accident occurred. So much has happened since then.
Stem Cells were great but without huge impacts. Worth the shot for any progress. Continual movement throughout his body, but without a ton of strength. He is continuing to find new ways to do things. My brother and I also make him figure things out. <wink> Ex) How to play Sudoku on his iPad. It's been tricky and challenging, but we found extra long iPad pens which we made 'thicker' around the handles he can use himself to play. He's a trooper dealing with us for sure.
The summer has been beautiful. Much outside time enjoyed. Therapy sessions have halted until after the first of the year (thank you Medicare) but they will pick back up after the first of the year again. The boys are going to re-join at Mercy Fairfield. They have an awesome WARM pool for movement as well as a couple of pieces of equipment for Spinal Cord Injury patients.
Fall brings incredible colors and fun fall festivals to enjoy. We love being outside and dad has been able to do Kings Island HAUNT, the ZOO and Fall Pumpkin Festivals getting around.
Again the motto has been "One Day at a Time" So we keep going forward.
I also believe my dad will walk again. I'm not sure the timing and the journey is sometimes frustrating but I appreciate the learning's and growing's we are all experiencing through this accident.
Life is not always easy, but we try really really hard to see silver linings through it all.
Thank you all for your continued support. ALWAYS! We love and appreciate you all.
Feel free to call dad or stop by anytime. He would LOVE IT!
Thanks!
Dad & Fam
