Doug says a big thank you for the encouraging words, and for your prayers. He’s currently being treated for organ rejection and infection, but it looks like he will get to come home on Jan 1, which is a great way to start the year.
Numbers are my jam, so here’s Doug’s 2023 by the numbers:
44 nights in the hospital
110 appointments at the Lung clinic
Over 6,000 pills swallowed (!) since July
And most impressive, 2 self extubations.
Then there are things we cannot quantify .. love and prayers sent our way, friends who have volunteered to help, sacrifices made by family to be here, and the brilliance and kindness of the medical team.
It’s been a doozy, but we made it. Thanks be to God. May 2024 bring you wholeness and peace and also a lot of fun 🩷.
