Sign In to Show Your SupportI had another MRI on May 19 and talked with my neurologist on May 22 about the results. Fortunately I didn't have to wait a month for a radiologist to read the results b/c my neurologist could do it himself. I don't have the fancy report yet, but this is what he told me. The steroids didn't have much of an effect. So Francine had to put up with my slightly altered mood (my words not hers) for a month for no benefit. I enjoyed the increased energy and the great appetite. I don't have the same energy now that I am being weaned off the steroids, but I still have a good appetite and it has been fun to eat. The results of eating much more are not going to be so nice for bathing suit weather though. The one lesion is about the same size and the other has gotten a little bigger. Since it has not grown much, he still thinks it is just more dead material as a result of the original radiation treatments. The area shows blue in the scans instead of red which would indicate blood flow to an active tumor. So he said we still have the same options of putting in probes to zap the area, (again notice my use of sophisticated medical terminology) or go in surgically and remove them, or just wait and get another MRI in 2 months and see if there is any change. Well, my choice is to wait and wonder for 2 months and try to enjoy summer with camping, kayaking, swimming, car shows, and all the other fun activities and he agrees. So that is it. No news can be interpreted as good news. Trust in the Lord and wait on Him.
Love,
Doug and Francine
