Please forgive me if you're a close family member or one of Doris' friends who has not yet been contacted. Doris died late last night, Tues. Nov. 18, at Kansas City Hospice House in KCMO. Although we knew she had only days remaining, yet another location move may have simply been too much for her. It's impossible to know, but I am so relieved she is finally at peace after her 12-week ordeal.

I'm posting Doris' funeral arrangements here, but first want to add that she (and I) would never expect any family member or friend to venture out in a pandemic if they had any health concerns whatsoever. Your role in Doris' life has been a great gift and comfort to her. So while all are certainly welcome, please do not feel obligated. Here are the details:

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Wed. Nov. 25 at the Cathedral of St. Peter the Apostle, 409 N. 15th St., Kansas City, KS, followed by burial at Mount Calvary Cemetery, 1150 N. 38th St., Kansas City, KS.

Obviously, because of concerns regarding COVID-19 spread, the funeral Mass and burial service will be socially-distanced and there will not be a church luncheon following. Masks are required at all times. Porter Funeral Home is responsible for the arrangements.

Again, thank you to everyone who has followed Doris' journey these past three months. I will likely post again following her funeral.
