After three days of monitoring and IV meds, we are home. Don is being monitored and supported by an incredible team of specialists and nurses at home and at our local clinics to make sure we are on point with meds, vitals, intake and output. The Afib is still present, and the hope is that it will turn itself around as the appropriate meds build up within his bloodstream. The new “normal” is just one more step in the recovery process! Again—recovery is hard! Small victories over the past couple of days include getting upstairs to the office computer, hot shower in our upstairs bathroom and going out for an easy lunch or dinner. This week will be filled with more tests, doctor appointments and lots of support team phone calls to keep us on the path moving forward.
Your prayers, thoughts and well wishes have sustained and lifted us these past few weeks. We are forever grateful and forever changed.
