Journal entry by Donny GrosJacques

Greetings from Middle Tennessee!

For the first time in a long time, I feel able enough to get on here and say something.

I wanted to tell you how deeply I appreciate your continued prayers and support over the last few years. My family has been on a difficult journey, but God and his people have been with us the entire time.

(I know some of you have experienced similar - and even more difficult - things than my family and I have shared. I pray that God will continue to be your strength as he surrounds you with others who love and support you. My heart is full of love for you.)

As we have been walking down this road, I've been looking for a way to get back "into" things. Normal work. Normal activity. Normal this and normal that.

And, to be honest, I'm not sure that is God's goal in all of this. He can use all of what's happened and more. And I believe he is.

Some of you have probably heard, but as we were praying and asking God what he wanted us to do in this new season, I stumbled upon a ministry called Club Beyond, and it seemed like a good fit.

They are an offshoot of Young Life, focusing exclusively on celebrating life with Military Teens, introducing them to Jesus, the life-giver, and helping them become more like Him. They are starting a ministry at Fort Campbell, right down the road from us.

I have family in the military. My beautiful nieces and nephews aren't teenagers yet, but it won't be long. The more we learned about Club Beyond, the more we became convinced that this incredibly needed ministry was one we wanted to be a part of.

Being a teenager is hard. Being a military teenager is harder.

I've worked with teens in a lot of contexts over the years. One of the common things I've seen is that the transition into adulthood is difficult. But knowing the love, acceptance, and freedom found in Jesus makes a world of difference.

So, we asked God if we could do it. Would he go with us - on mission - to the teens at Fort Campbell?

After much prayer and seeking him, we feel like God said, “Yes," so we can't wait to be part of the work he wants to do in the teens that come through Fort Campbell.

I just wanted to share that with you and again say thank you for your love and support over these last few years.

My heart is full of love and joy for you all.
