Journal

Well, once things get rolling, they move pretty quickly.

On Sunday, the kids and I visited. Mom was still hooked up to multiple tubes and monitors, but she drank a whole Rutter's chocolate milkshake, which is a pretty big deal for her. She hasn't been eating much for months.

On Monday, she was relieved of the tubes into her lungs.

On Tuesday, she was able to get a shower for the first time.

On Wednesday, SHE CAME HOME.

On Thursday, she is waking up in her own home, hopefully happily snuggling her baby kitty she missed so much.

She still has a long road to healing. It will be some time before her activity is able to be more normal, but she promises to listen to the professionals and ASK FOR HELP.

I know Dad is relieved. He did a lot of running and prep work for her that is totally outside his comfort zone. Plus, he said he didn't want to have to "train another one." That's about as close to sweet talk as he gets. HAHA.

She's not a big fan of phone, messaging, and typing yet, so if you send messages or call, know that she appreciates every bit of that but might not be up to the maneuvering it takes to respond. She is to be house-bound for the next two months, so as much as she wanted to be home, she will be going stir-crazy before too long!
