Obituary for Donna Lynne Dinsmore
Donna Lynne Dinsmore (Weaver), 71, of Naples, FL, passed away peacefully on November 9, 2018 in Naples, FL surrounded by her family and close friends.

Donna was born in Grand Forks, North Dakota to Walter Clinton Weaver and Alma Leone Weaver (Wentz) on March 7, 1947. She, along with her two older siblings, Don and Lois, attended Grand Forks Central High School. After a year at the University of North Dakota, Donna married and had two daughters, Lisa and Lauri. A job opportunity at BlueCross/Blue Shield of Minnesota moved Donna and the girls to the Twin Cities in the early 70’s where she soon met the love of her life, Tom Dinsmore, and they later married. Smart, creative and hardworking, her talents were soon recognized, and she soon rose up through the ranks at Blue Cross.

Upon their retirement, Donna and Tom moved to Naples, FL to be near her sister, Lois, and her husband, Terry. Once there, they met an additional wonderful network of friends.

Donna had many passions, but the greatest of these was her love for animals. Throughout the years, Donna took in many pets and strays and lovingly nursed them back to health. If there was a dog or cat that needed a loving home, Donna could not turn her back on them.

Technology was another passion of hers, and she helped so many of her friends and family troubleshoot problems that would crop up with their computers, phones, etc. Had she been born a bit later, there is no doubt she would have made a great living in IT.

Donna was preceded in death by her father, Walter C. Weaver; her mother, Alma Weaver (Wentz); her brother, Donald C. Weaver; and many beloved pets. She is survived by her husband, Thomas S. Dinsmore, her daughters, Lisa (Scott) Stordahl and Lauri Schirck, her sister, Lois (Terry) Kehoe, and grandchildren Tyler Stordahl, Zachary Stordahl, and Rachel Franczyk, as well as many friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Donna at a later date.

If you wish to send a memorial in Donna’s memory, the family asks that you consider one of the following organizations:

• Any non-profit organization that supports the care of pets. She particularly liked groups that aided with the adoption of older pets.
• Avow Hospice provided compassionate care and support to the family. Their address is 1095 Whippoorwill Lane, Naples, FL 34114 and their website is www.avowcares.org
• CaringBridge provided an incredible opportunity for us to reach out to all of you and for you to reach back. Their website is www.caringbridge.org

Donna’s family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Avow Hospice, Sally’s Cancer Support Group, Dr. Wang and the staff at Florida Cancer Specialists, and the wonderful nurses in the Oncology Unit at Naples Community Hospital.
