Don’s Story

Site created on May 25, 2019

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your prayers and support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

Don had acute pancreatitis in Nov 2016 with complications due to accidental perforation of his bile duct during one of the procedures. He got septic twice and  had to be in and out of procedures and surgeries.  The last surgery had the doctor just close up his stomach and the doctor said he does not like to operate on a dead person.  We took him home with 3 drains , TPN, 2 IVs for antibiotics , insulin  shots , etc.  By Gods mercy, with lots of prayers, his body healed.  Praise God! Even the doctors were amazed and considered him a miracle.  A few months later, he had to have another surgery for an incisional hernia since due to malnourishment, his surgery wounds didn't heal well.  On Aug 31st 2017,  Don went for his last surgery and they placed a mesh on his abdominal wall.
The last few months of this year, Don started getting more abdominal pain, lost weight  and had distention.  After a series of testing, we received the results of Don's last biopsy on May 21st. He tested positive for  metastatic pancreatic cancer that spread to his lungs already and is considered stage 4.  Surgery is not an option.  Appreciate prayers for Gods miraculous intervention, healing for his complete body even now as He did it the last time.  We know He is more than able to do it again.  We do believe God is going to finish the good work He started in Don.   For we know God is  good  and His mercies endure forever. Hallelujah!

Ecclesiaster 7: 2 NKJV   Better to go to the house of mourning Than to go to the house of feasting, For that is the end of all men; And the living will take it to heart.

There you go, our dear prayer warrior friends and family! It is better to go to the house of mourning! Although we will be doing a celebration of a great life lived by this awesome man, we will still be mourning for our loss! Chum chum!

Here is the obituary for Don! See you then! Our family will be wearing white for the celebration so you don't have to feel you have to wear black. Details of the services are in this link. You are invited to see Don on Friday (there is a viewing on Saturday morning too but for an hour only before the Celebration Service , so try to make this Friday 5-8 pm). We will also have a reception after the interment service at Abundant Life (thank you awesome ALC family). We will share food (yummm, thank you awesome friends for providing this), laughter (since you know with Don you cant help but laugh since he is a fun-gi, ha), maybe little bit more tears (this we cant help since we will miss him dearly), and just have fun (since this is what Don would have us do). We will just encourage one another and as Ecc 7:2 reminds us, this is "the end of all men" and it is wise for the "living to take it to heart". Chum Chum! What a wise advise! Let us take this to heart! See the other ! (Psalms 90:12 So teach us to number our days that we may get a heart of wisdom, Rom 12:11 This is all the more urgent, for you know how late it is; time is running out. Wake up, for our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed, James 4:14 whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away. Ephesians 5:15,16 See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil. )

12 See you this weekend ! And thank you again for the outpouring of love, support and blessings for our family! We appreciate you all and prayers that our Lord will continue to bless us all, let his face shine upon us, and give us peace! Love you guys!
