Donald’s Story

Site created on July 23, 2021

Friday morning, July 16th Donald woke up with abdominal pain that sent us to the ER. He had a CT scan which revealed cancerous masses in his liver.  This unexpected news has sent us on a journey unlike we have experienced before. He saw the oncologist the first time on July 20th, had a biopsy on July 23rd. On July 28th he received a phone call from the oncologist that his biopsy results revealed the cancer to be cholangiocarcinoma of the liver. This news has sent our family reeling however, we are very supported by each other and those closest to us. As Donald begins and goes through treatment, we will keep you updated. We appreciate your prayers and concern.

On behalf of my family, I would like to extend a big thank you to all of you. You all have been a special part of these last 7 months since Dad was diagnosed. I cannot tell you how much your prayers, words of encouragement, financial gifts, flowers and meals have meant to us. The meals shared with my parents and the family were so delicious and wonderful. We feel so blessed by the generosity of those around us.

We would like to share with you the links to the Dad's service from Saturday as well as the slideshow that was shown during the visitation times. We know there were many who, for various reasons, were unable to attend so if you would like to view the service it is below. Our thanks to MBC for making it available.
