Hello to all,
Hope you have been enjoying some summer fun! It has been 8 months since the last update, so here is the latest:
- Overall, Woody is doing great and has his 2 year post-transplant check up in November in Seattle. We continue to thank God for helping us get to this point.
- Woody had a second sepsis hospitalization this spring but was able to kick it much quicker this time around.
- In order to tackle ongoing GI concerns, Woody had a few visits and procedures with the fine folks at Charleston GI, and is now on a medication regimen that has helped his GI system start to return to normal. This has been a MAJOR step forward and allowed Woody to feel MUCH BETTER. Yay!!!
- He has received almost all childhood vaccines and is up to date on all COVID vaccines so we are able to get out and about again. Any outdoor activity is back in play! 😊
Check out a few new pictures in the photo gallery. Woody has had many 'first time since transplant' experiences, but I think his favorite by far was catching that trout on the Davidson River in North Carolina this summer. We were also able to travel by RV to Ohio to visit Joan's family for "WherleyPalooza" - a now annual summer event where all the kids travel home and camp at Joan's parent's house in the country for a week and give the neighbors something to talk about.
We are both thrilled to be enjoying the outdoors and we are starting to catch up with friends and family again so give us a shout if you are around.
Thank you again for your friendship and support.
