More great news!!  Dad will be watching the Super Bowl in the comfort of his own family room!!  It has been a long, arduous journey home but we got back to Morning Sun late Wed. evening.  There has been much activity at the house to help prepare him to live comfortably and safely here.  Thanks so much to all the contractors and friends who have gone way beyond expectations to help in the preparations.
Dad’s health continues to improve.  He thinks the change in altitude has helped him significantly.  He still is weaker than he would like and he doesn’t have as much stamina.  Little by little, however he is gaining strength and confidence.
Because of these health issues he has made the difficult decision to retire.  This will be a huge lifestyle change as he has worked consistently for the past 64 years.  He is grateful that he has been able to serve as your veterinarian for all these years.   We are collecting favorite Doc Dill stories to put together as a retirement memory book. (Or possibly best seller!!)
He is attached and interested in each of you and he hopes his relationships with you will continue.  He is committed to helping in any way he can in the transition to a new pet provider.
Thanks again for all your prayers, comments of support, stories, phone calls, etc.  None of us expected the outpouring of love and gratitude.
We will be in and out during the next few weeks to see how things are going.  It is scary for us to leave him in Iowa without a close family member present.  However, we recognize that this community is his family!!!
I wanted to give you our contact numbers in case there is anything you see which would be helpful or necessary for him.
     Nan:  (724)344-5000
     Don:  (719)207-1400
     Jeanne. (507)269-5911
     Debbie:  (303)725-6402
Thanks again and we hope this is the beginning of the next adventurous chapter in his life!!!
