Happy New Year! Dixie was moved to a "step-down" ICU room today and Gene was able to make it up to keep her company. She still has a feeding tube, but we're hoping it comes out soon as she was able to start eating soft food yesterday. She has been experiencing ICU delirium, which has been quite discouraging to her at times, but we are reminding her how incredibly far she already has come and how strong she has been throughout all of this. As one of her liver doctors told her before the transplant, this is a marathon.
