Newest Update

Journal entry by Candice Anne

Dillon has had a few busy weeks so I wanted to give an update on how well he is doing! The doctors at Moffitt gave him the green light, so we’ve  found a new Oncologist at Orlando Health so that he can begin to transition back to local care. After a little snafu with scheduling (original doctor said his case was too complex so he was transferred to another) he had his first appointment and was able to begin immunotherapy last week. He was also given the go ahead to start moving back out into the world, as long as he’s vigilant about staying away from crowded places, does lots of hand washing, and stays on his preventative medication.

This past week, he moved into a new apartment with two friends, started a summer class at UCF (Environmental Biology), and came over to celebrate Pipers birthday!
His next scan will be at 6 months post transplant (end of June) so keep those prayers coming because that is where the rubber meets the road and the true outcome of the stem cell transplant will be seen. WHEN that scan is clear, he can start to receive his childhood immunizations and once again fully participate in the world. Thank you, as always, for your continued support of Dillon💜
