Journal

As I write another "last journal entry, today" 😉 I find myself writing to David one more time (hmmm....) and mostly to all that have followed his journey this summer.  Today, David is 19 years old and we look so forward to celebrate many more with him.  He celebrates with his other (haha) best Auntie Heather & Uncle Eric in Virginia today and I know they are making it one of his best birthdays yet, cause that's what Auntie Heather & Uncle Eric do, they make every birthday celebration amazing.  Not to mention they are the best hosts around!  This was a trip way past due for him and his brothers and I'm so grateful that they were finally able to make it happen.

As for me David, I still look at you and pause, take a breath and ask myself, is it really you?  I still fall into tears and I still take a breath thinking of the miracle I saw God perform this summer before my very eyes.  Watching you lifeless for three days and walk out of the hospital 7 days later is still something my own heart is working on and still disbelief of it all.  I love you more than ever David and you will always be our miracle, our grace.  As much as I know, and yes, agree, how much you just want to move forward and put it all behind you, I can't and will never forget the heart break of losing you and the joyous tears of God keeping you here, and especially, all in good health. I will never forget the millions of prayers sent your way and the doctors saying,  "We are just doctors, God does the rest".  All that, I will forever remember.

David, each day for all of us, is what makes us who we are tomorrow, one day at a time, we grow braver and stronger as a result of living each day positively and courageously.  Our past, all of it, is what makes us who we are in the present.  You dear David, make us want to live each day the best, fullest possible, and I know you are celebrating your birthday doing just that... with love, family and laughter...maybe even a nap.  Happy Happy 19th Birthday David! May God continue blessing you everyday.  I praise Him everyday that you are with us.

Next year, August 17, 2019 David will be 20 years old and this will be a year of our family paying it forward.  Pushing harder than ever to get 1700+ people to learn CPR, maybe even 2000?! For everyone who has followed Davids story, please wish him a Happy Birthday and as for our family that got through this summer because of all of YOU, please support our Dibbs17 Mission and learn CPR.  Gods plan puts people in the right place at the right time, and maybe you'll be the angel in some way or how, like Zach saved David that day.

Forever, stay blessed, and always, be loved, Auntie Connie & Familia
