Journal entry by Mary Ann Poole —
Today is day one on Dianne’s road to recovery. She was diagnosed a month ago with triple negative basal type breast cancer. Even though she did everything to prevent: prophylactic mastectomy, hysterectomy and healthy living, the BRCA 1 gene proved too strong. She will have one regimen of chemo every other week for 8 weeks and then another every week for 12 weeks. They expect the tumor to shrink quickly! She will then have surgery the end of March. Her spirits are good and her competitive spirits are high, as you would expect - at the end of today it will be Dianne 1 - cancer 0! Thank you for your prayers and good wishes! God is good!
