Journal

Words cannot express the pain and sadness of the loss of a precious daughter.

When Dianna was born she had big blue eyes that would take in everything. When she was little her hair was blond ringlets around her face. It was a joy (and sometimes a challenge!) to parent her through her growing up years. God really worked in her life and heart through the years but especially when she attended a Christian discipleship program called Ellerslie in Colorado.

Dianna was the most like me in her personality and interests. She was slow to speak and quick to hear (a great listener, as you have heard from others). We both loved gardening and cooking. We flowed well together. When she got married, it was time to let her go. The two greatest desires of her heart - besides knowing, loving, and serving God - were to be a wife and mother. She took those calls from God very seriously and poured out her love on Dylan and eventually baby Vincent as well.

While they lived in Minnesota for the month and a half before the accident, Dianna and Vincent would come over frequently. She was helping me with Christina's photo album before graduation. We were both starting to get into a different way of eating so I would make smoothies, snacks, and meals that we would try together. It was so much fun and a great motivator for both of us! Now that is just a memory.

As time goes by, I miss her dearly. I know life goes on but I'm not sure what that looks like yet. I only cry because I miss her smile, the sparkle in her eyes, the joy she brings when she is around. I don't cry for her. She is in Glory where there is no sorrow or tears. I rejoice that I will see her again because of the hope that is within me and the promises in God's Word.

~Dianna's Mom, Vicky
