Hello friends and loved ones,

The one year anniversary date has come and gone. Derrick and I have so much to be thankful. God has truly been in this very difficult story. He has blessed & encouraged us through you, the doctors, medical staff, Samaritan, and sometimes complete strangers. Like Job, we don't know God's purpose in all this, but we will keep trusting  Him through it all.

Derrick has been working so hard with physical therapy, exercises at home, getting out to his garage almost everyday( even when it was 10 degrees!), and resuming his spiritul studies  through  worship services and small group Bible study And prayer.

There have been a few set backs, but many positive milestones. He mowed the lawn with the zero turn mower, drove the golfcart & his 4-wheeler, he got a recumbent bicycle which he was able to pedal to the neighbors to visit! He is able to stand, and is working on balance, strenghthening hips and legs for actual walking. It all takes time

We covet your prayers. Low moods are a constant battle and the final outcome is unknown at this point. We will need help in the adjustments to a new normal.

Thanks for the cards, calls and visits,

Ilona (Derrick's wife)
