July 20 marked DeRoi Jr's 4th week of treatment. The doctors are still amazed with his resilience and his ability to recover. 

One of the doctors at Mayo, not on his case, can not believe it and had to see for himself.  As he was looking in at the back of De'Roi's throat, he said to Jr, " wow, this is amazing, I cannot believe you are still able to eat solid foods".  The doctor continued with, "The back of your throat is completely full of blisters, so instead of losing weight, you have been gaining weight and by my understanding you are not taking any of the medications we have been prescribing for you?" De'Roi responded with " That is because I have so many people praying for me". De'Roi's comment had one of the doctors in tears.  God is so good and De'Roi has been able to shine for Him to other patients, Mayo staff and his care team.

July 22,  we were accepted into the Ronald McDonald House in Rochester. Thank you to everyone who has been praying for us. What a blessing it has been to stay here.

De'Roi is heading into week 6 starting July 30. This past week he completed treatment like a champion. He has only used one medicine so far, because he could not resist spicy nachos.  Spending time with him has been a true joy and blessing.  He has been reminding all of us that a prayer, a joke, a smile and good quality time with people who love him are what truly matters. This kid is in such good spirits, you cannot even tell that he is battling cancer and going through treatment.  Most of the time Venus has to remind him to slow down and rest.

We have been able to get around Rochester a little bit and even spent Friday at the County Fair.
