Journal entry by Della Moyer

2 Corinthians 10:5 We demolish arguments and fiery pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.

When we focus on the beauty God has allowed us to enjoy in each season of life, we can shift from what is no longer to all the blessings in the present and to come. Tracie Miles

I know it has been a while since I shared my status, mainly because there hasn’t been much to share - until now.  I go once a month to see Dr. T and have labs.  This month, they did another PET scan and it showed “no evidence of active multiple myeloma”.  According to Dr. T, that means I am in remission and should stay that way for 4 or more years.  I will be required to take the Revlimid for 2-4 years and I will gladly do that to keep this disease at bay.  When Dr. T showed me the scans, it was so evident of what healing God has done in my body in the last year.  I had never seen the first scan radiograph and my entire spine and hip were “lit up”.  This time there was nothing on my spine or hip except for a small spot on the T12 vertebrae which is due to the severe damage to that vertebrae.

So, yesterday I saw my neurosurgeon who did kyphoplasty on T12 because it was “hollow”.  He expects this to alleviate the pain in my low back and the tightness around my waist.  The procedure wasn’t bad at all and I just need to be cautious about what I do for a few weeks to let my spine to continue to healing from all the cancer did.

I chose this scripture today because so many cancer patients deal with continuous effects of the disease and the treatments.  Satan uses the pain and nausea, etc to affect our thoughts to keep us down.  We have to purposely choose to think positively and I am the first to admit that I do not always do that well.  I had a friend share a thought the other day: “Prayer does things in the Spirit realm that the enemy cannot touch.”  It was a great reminder that we all need to pray not only for our family and friends, but ourselves.  It is not selfish to pray for yourself.

I am excited to see the new blessings God has for us in the present and to come.

Jim and I thank you all for your continued prayers, calls, etc.  Please continue to pray for Becky, Raymond, Amy Mc, Karen, Dennis, Jim Y and all the others who have serious health issues.
