Journal entry by Sally Adelman —
Deborah is nearing the end of her journey. She is still very much herself but realizes that her body is growing weaker and weaker and her mind is not tracking as well. Deborah is not in a lot of pain and has been able to enjoy the beautiful spring days we've had and lay in her magnificent bedroom surrounded by the view of her garden outside and by her many fabulous mementos of a richly lived life. She is greatly appreciating all of your support which has been amazing. However, she is drawing more inward as the journey progresses and has less and less energy to communicate. So the time to visit and talk on the phone has ended. Short text messages or emails without expectation of a response would be lovely. And we do still need your physical support on the schedule but your time may be mostly sitting, so give her space for rest and peace just helping as needed. I know this is a hard request as our time together is so precious. Hold her in your hearts and she'll know.
A $25 donation to CaringBridge powers a site like Deborah's for two weeks. Will you make a gift to help ensure that this site stays online for them and for you?
