Journal

It's been quite a while since the last posting so I'll try to bring everyone up to date on the latest events. We've learned and continue to learn how to care for a trach. There's been some difficult times but we are now in a routine and life seems much more normal. Deb is now getting out of the house quite often whether it be shopping, going out to eat and going to Church.  Unfortunately, after a visit to the eye doctor, Deb can't drive due to the loss of peripheral vision. After many months in a recliner Deb is also sleeping in a regular bed.

Today we saw a different ENT who spent quite a bit of time explaining and showing us what is causing her breathing problems. He showed us a video of when he scoped her throat and we could clearly see her vocal cords. They did move a little bit but still don't open far enough for Deb to breathe easily. He is referring us to a specialist at the U of MN who deals with conditions like hers. He gave us hope that the trach may not have to be a permanent thing. There are no guarantees of course, but we are looking forward to seeing what options we may have.

In the meantime we will continue to move forward trusting that God will lead us. Pleasure continue to pray for Deb's throat to heal and for wisdom for the Doctors and Specialists who are treating her. Thank you for your love and concern.
