Hey all -
Whew!!! Apparently the last two days flew by and Friday is about to pass by as well! 😬 Lets catch up on Deb's last few days and where we are now!
Wednesday was a relatively quiet day and mostly spent working with therapy. They wanted Deb to continue practicing transfers from the bed to a wheelchair and/or commode (portable toilet). Additionally, she got to practice getting in and out of a "car" in the therapy room. Otherwise it was a restful day as we let the healing process work its magic.
Thursday was much more exciting! The morning was spent trying to coordinate the delivery of the medical equipment to the house. She is now the "not proud" new owner of a hospital bed, commode, and wheelchair which took over the office at her house. Once these were delivered around 4pm, we were able to begin the discharge process from the hospital. Getting into the car was a bit more challenging then the "fake car" in therapy. Hopefully with practice this will get easier. We arrived home in Berne around 6pm to dinner from Tony and Ginner! I can also tell you that Bub was excited to see her come 'rolling' through the door! :-)
Throughout the night and today she stayed fairly comfortable, as we are trying to adjust to the "new normal". Just like you would think, everything is trial and error. We are asking for prayer as she adjust and figures out the new routine.
Immediate family will be helping Deb during this adjustment into finding a routine but we will be reaching out to fill days as needed. We will also communicate soon regarding a meal schedule! Our family is feeling so blessed by the continual outpour of people asking how they can help. We are so thankful and promise to share a schedule asap!
With love,
Ally
