Journal entry by Dan Grice

Their are no words that will adequately describe my appreciation and thankfulness for the beautiful service for my dear Debi. As I watched so many scramble to put it all together, I just couldn’t envision all of that effort culminating into what we saw and experienced Tuesday. I felt like I was holding someone’s hand and gently held back, out of the way to only watch the preparations move rapidly around me. Amy’s lead on all of this was so incredibly selfless. If she hit a wall, she didn’t stop, but rather just took a different direction and drove on. Pastor Andy Taylor was so personally involved through all the planning, aiding Amy and organizing all the many pieces of preparation, the many people at church, just so much. And I still held on to that hand and watched as it came together. Was it Debi saying they’ve got this, you rest and stand by me a little longer? Or our Lord?

it’s not my nature to step aside when there is so much to do, but for the first time in my life, I stepped back and felt a peace about it unlike anything before this.

Amy, my loving daughter, Christa, daughter-in-law, Andy, Amy’s friends, especially Laura Rollins, Sahara at Floral Haven, servers at church, everyone behind the scenes who did and gave so much, thank you, thank-you and may God Bless you all.

As Debi would say, I’m so “thankful” for the beautiful music, thankful for Chris Kizzia, Jennifer Mann and Julie Hitchcock, what beautiful gifted, wonderful people.
so thankful for Glinda Renfro’s talent to be able to put together that beautiful video in such short notice. All will never be forgotten. Thank you Brother Bob, for your beautiful words at the service. Bob Green Was our pastor when we attended Arrow Heights 2 decades ago.

I’m so thankful for all the family and friends who paid their respects, honoring my sweet Debi and coming, as far away as Virginia and Washington state, to the viewing or service. I’m so thankful for the technology that allowed the service to be viewed live in, I know, so many homes, keeping safe from Covid and facing long drives.

Debi touch so many lives...I had no idea she was loved by so many...hundreds. She was a gift to me as well, in so, so many ways. But please remember what Andy said at in the service, though Debi as a good Christian, doing person, mother, wife, friend, it was the sacrifice and the love of Jesus that paved her way to Heaven. God Bless you all. Dan
