Debbie’s Story

Site created on June 22, 2018

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. This site is authored and updated by Debbie's kids; Kai, Dayna, and Clay.Thank you for visiting.
On Wed June 6th, our mom had surgery to repair a tear in her colon, she was recovering well until Tues June 12th when Dr's discovered a second tear that also needed surgical repair.  Going through a second surgery in such a short amount of time really wiped her out. She was on a ventilator for 2 days following surgery.as of now she is recovering well but is still very tired. We expect her to move to a Skilled nursing center sometime next week. For now visits have been limited to family members as she tires easily.
We appreciate all the support of her friends and family through this ordeal and time of healing. We thought by starting a website; it would be the best way to keep everyone updated on her status.

First off we just want to thank everyone for your continued support. I know it has been a while since we last posted an update. We just found out that my mom will need 2 surgeries in the next 4 months instead of 1. The first will be to remove the portion of the colon that has not healed properly and to repair a hernia as a result of the second surgery. Hopefully that will heal well and her recovery will be quick. This is a setback to her healing and making this journey to back to health longer than expected. Keep those prayers and positive comments coming...they are much needed at this time
