Journal

Yesterday my husband and I met with my endovascular and neurosurgeon to talk about the second opinion from Barrow. Dr. Charles Guidot and Dr. Mark Jones here in Midland are excellent and caring doctors. They have had a lot of patience with me and all of my doubts and questions. Dr. Guidot met us at Dr. Jones office and did not even charge us for the consult! AND they took time to address all of my questions and concerns. AND, at my request, I got a hug from each of them. I am a little embarrassed about asking for a hug, but I was just so overwhelmed with emotion and gratitude.

Anyway, they told me that most of the patients they send to Barrow have excellent outcomes and that Dr. Lawton is world renown in his field. It is possible that the rest of my aneurysms could be fixed with the craniotomy and that is a big deal to me! Clipping instead of coiling is considered to be more permanent in most cases.  So even though it is a tougher surgery with a longer recovery, it could be well worth it. For the first time since my diagnosis I have a sense of peace. That peace comes from knowing God has been guiding my path since the beginning. It gives me great peace to know that if I am pursuing a wrong path he will intervene to get me going in the right direction.  Knowing that my Midland doctors also think this is a good choice sure helps!

John 14:27 "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid."

Joshua 1:9 "Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go."
