Journal entry by Debbie Hatfield —
I am six weeks beyond the second surgery. I see the surgeon on Wednesday and hope to be released for exercise so I can start back on my treadmill. You haven’t missed much, just lots of healing happening!
I am mostly working from home, but am starting to venture back in 2 days a week. I still get pretty worn out from a day, but so much better since adding Vitamin D and magnesium to the daily pills.
This week I started PT in hopes of regaining my shoulder range of motion. I’ve also developed lymphedema so I have a fun new fashion accessory in the form of a compression sleeve.
Tomorrow I have my first infusion of a drug that is supposed help with bone loss caused by the long-term drug. This will be every six months.
Overall, recovery is going well. Managing side effects and trying to listen to my body when it says “enough” for a day. I am generally a planner and this has taught me that life can’t always be laid out ahead of time. It truly is one day at time with regard to how I feel.
The Lord has been good in so many ways and I thank everyone who has continued to follow this, continued to pray, and sent me quick messages. I am truly grateful your love and support.
