DeAndre Lynn’s Story

Site created on September 12, 2018

At his twenty week ultrasound DeAndre was diagnosed with a congenital diaphragmatic hernia also known as CDH.  CDH is when there is a hole in the diaphragm that allows organs in the stomach area such as the liver and the spleen to migrate up into the chest cavity thus putting pressure on the heart and restricting lung growth.  Babies born with CDH need specialized care immediantly after birth and surgery once they are stabilized.
Due to their success rate with this rare birth defect we chose Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) to be the place where DeAndre would be born.  This requires temporarily relocating to Philadelphia about three hours from our home for a short time...

Finally going home!   DeAndre is supposed to take it easy for a few days yet but that's fine with me.  I think I'll just soak up being home with both my boys 😃
Again we felt so supported and prayed for.   Thank you!!
