Yesterday, bright and early Dave had to report for his colon surgery. Although he did not like all the waiting for the procedure to begin — he disliked even more how he felt after.
The good news is the doctor said the polyp tumor was benign.
We were at the hospital until about 8:30 pm last night because Dave kept requesting pain medication that required he be monitored while taking.
At 4 am today — he thought he needed the ER due to pain. Thankfully, we were able to connect with the doctor on call who assured him that pain was expected and normal with colon surgery.
And we managed to time the pain medications which enabled us to make the car trip home.
About the brain MRI — the neuro oncologist thought the May 8 scan was essentially the same as the end of March scan.
He plans to chat with the colon surgeon next week — but since preliminary results are a benign colon tumor — he thought Dave would do 3 more rounds of the original chemotherapy.
We are home. And so thankful to be here! Now we can rest.
