Update Dawson 9.8.23:  Yesterday and today, Dawson has made some big gains. (After   a few days where progress was slow, a mild plateau.) We are so proud of him and his strength, resilience, and determination. The doctor today said there will continue to be good and bad days and periods of little to slow progress but not to get discouraged. Yes, he has a long road to travel he is not intimidated by the hurdles or forks in the road . The therapist and care team are beyond amazed at how well he is doing and how hard he pushes himself. Dawson is asked, "Do you need a break? Your leg is showing signs of fatigue let's take a rest. Dawson's response: nope, I can do 5 or 10 more or walk to the next railing. He is now in a manual WC, doing some ADLs independently, doing his own PEG tube dressing cares, and transfers (with stand-by assist). Dawson said thank you to everyone that is giving their support, prayers, and love. He has enjoyed his cards and care packages -- loves snacks, lol. 😋
Enjoyed a fishing trip earlier this week, outside for supper and ice cream tonight.
