On the morning of Monday, July 17, David was traveling north on U.S. Highway 61 in Red Wing, MN through a construction zone when he was struck by a southbound box truck while riding his scooter. David sustained life-threatening injuries including massive head trauma, a punctured lung, spinal column and spinal cord injuries, and numerous broken bones (face, neck, left arm, all left-side ribs, bilateral pelvis, right leg, and right ankle). David was immediately brought to the Red Wing ED and then airlifted to St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, MN where doctors removed the right side of his skull to relieve pressure in his brain and address multiple brain bleeds. David remains in a coma and critical condition.
David is loved by his family and known as a gentle giant who enjoys playing Call of Duty and following all of the local sports teams (Go Vikes!). David loves comedy and enjoys visiting comedy clubs. He loved his dog, Max, who recently passed away. Like many in his family, David is not one to shy away from a good meal.
