Journal entry by Terri Rovella —
On Monday they did another upper GI scan to see what was going on and why he is unable to eat or drink. For this test he had to drink a contrast. He got back from the scan and was very uncomfortable. The Dr came in and said that the contrast was going nowhere. For 7 hours it just sat there. There is a tumor that is pressing on that area. They gave him another medication that would hopefully get his small intestine working, it is not pumping right. The Dr. decided the only way for him to get any nutrition is through an IV, so they placed a PICC line. The only way to fix the small intestine issue, is to shrink the tumors. So as of 9pm on Wednesday he was getting his first bag of nutrition. We are praying that this gives him more energy and strength so he can start his next round of chemo on Monday. He will not be leaving the hospital until at least the Friday after his 2nd round.
Thank you all so much for your kind messages. It makes him happy to hear from you all.
