Dave breathed on his own all day yesterday, about 6pm he signaled he was having trouble so was put on assist support. His vent is still set at 40%, He is making baby steps and realizes it will take some time to get back where he needs to be. He still has staples in his stomach, healing is taking longer than it should. I ask him everyday if he still wants to fight to get better, to which he always nods his head yes. I have told him if it gets to hard for him to let me know as I do not want to cause him to suffer. Prayers are so greatly appreciated.
