Newest Update

Journal entry by Alyssa Krause

I wanted to say, "Thank you," again for all the love and support for our family. The kids are doing so well and they feel special every time someone shows they care. We have been enjoying the season. I thought I would post one last time.

We also have a family blog of pictures at davidandalyssa.blogspot.com. I do not write much or very often but we have it to stay in touch.

Hudson - He has been praying, "Dear God, I hope daddy is having a good time in heaven." He has been trying to send things up to daddy on a helium balloon including his favorite homemade waffles. He has been asking his insightful questions and kissing me at all the right times.

Eva- She has been reading like usual. We just went to the library to get some books and discovered we have checked out enough from the public library to save $4,641.58 this year. Her first dance competition will start in January. She also finished her sectional Lego League Robotics competition.

Luke - He asked me if Dave could see the last Star Wars movie as Luke attended today. Luke loves tradition and he thought since Dave showed him the first movie he should be there for the last. Luke got his Black Belt and when he had to speak to the crowd he said, "I want to thank my parents..." I am glad Dave is still with him in his heart. Luke has been doing a fairly good job of being my technical director, I just can not keep up with how fast he clicks from one screen to the other. Often I will have him text for me because he is so much faster. Luke also put himself in charge of picking out our car for 2022 when the van has over 225,000 miles. I let him drive our van down our street the other day and we were very safe and slow and somewhat straight.

Myself - I have been learning so much. Once I do things one time they become easy. I am most thankful that I feel like I can still be the kind of mom I desire to be, barely. There is a long list of things that I can not do with my kids anymore but that does not stop my love. My main love language is quality time so I wish for more all the time but our connection remains.

1. Dave and I when we were dating, sorry about the picture of a picture.
2. Christmas traditions at church, my work and the holiday lights.
3. Eva's FLL competition, Luke's Black Belt Testing, Hudson's birthday, Bennett and Luke on guitar.
4. So this whole thing would be easier if I only had two kids to take care of. However, the picture here is of Dave and I at Lake Tahoe in the Hudson cabin. It must have been meant to be. Hudson has started packing me stuffed animals to take to work. He also enjoyed helping decorate for Christmas at church. I am sure he is here just to bring me more joy.
5. Our first Christmas together. I would give anything to go back to Grandad's house and watch Dave put on his tie.

Love you all,

Merry Christmas from our family to yours!
