Journal
This afternoon, in the midst of the hustle and bustle of the Mims household, with music playing and a lovely decorated tree surrounded with gifts in the living room, tantalizing fragrances wafting from the kitchen where our daughter and grand daughter are creating culinary delights, I am looking back over the year in my mind and praising God that we can travel, we can be here to share family. There has been so much change: from deep challenges to euphoric highs; lots of tears mixed with rich laughter. And through it all, the Lord has faithfully supported, strengthened, provided, encouraged, protected, healed, assuring us that no matter what the day brought forth, He loves us.
We headed out of Maine in mid-October, grateful for Dave's strength and progress in his recovery. We were reminded that it may take a year to fully heal from the treatment, and an appointment at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL., was set up. We visited family and friends in NH, VT, NY, Ontario, MI, IN, PA, AL, MS, TN, and FL. Dave had his three-month checkup at the Clinic the first week in December, and was given the "all clear". We were relieved, thankful, and started looking for an apartment where we could set up southern housekeeping and see what the Lord has in store for our next "assignment". Dave is not fully healed, but every week we see improvement.
As far as a place to live, the application for Senior housing in New Port Richey has been submitted, but since it's Christmas, we went up to Memphis to spend it with Terah and family. We have so much to praise the Lord for!!!
