Journal entry by Jessica Soto-Garcia

Hi Everyone,

Sorry for not posting on here much lately. As some of you know my step dad passed away a couple of days after I was released from the hospital. The weeks that followed were just a blur. He had a cardiac arrest, fought like a warrior,  but was unable to recover.  He was a great man and we miss him so much. I know he is looking over us and is guiding me through my battles.

We want to to thank you all for the well wishes and the love and support shown to us during these times.

With that said, I finally had my 1st follow up appointment post surgery today . The pathology results came back the same as the initial results. This is good news as polymorphous adenocarcinoma is considered a low grade cancer and based on what little info is online, I have a decent prognosis. We also received the pathology results from the lymph node removal: 53 lymph nodes removed and 0 showed signs of cancer. This is the best news I’ve received in a while as it means I will most likely not require any radiation. I will still meet with a radiation oncologist for their input, but things are finally starting to look better.

Love
David G.
