“Brian and I just got back from hospital and talked to the doctor.  He was so much more informative.  He said pneumonia is almost gone and they are wondering if part of Dave’s agitation is that he may have some mental issues after his oxygen was so low when he was brought in so they are going to do a better CAT scan on the brain to rule out any issues there.  Cardiologist is in the picture too.  It seems they are doing a good job and I was on the verge of asking them to transfer him to MUSC.  I will see Dr. Nestor, the lung specialist tomorrow.  Both doctors came in to talk to me.  They both said don’t get discouraged when I asked if he was ever coming off the ventilator because he gets wild and agitated when they take him off of the heavy sedative.  He said listen, this is going to be a long road so just bear with us as we keep testing him.  So then I decided to give them a little more time.”
