I went in for my 3-month bloodwork on Monday, Aug 1 and everything looks good. My PSA was <0.04 (nearly undetectable) and my Testosterone was 13, so still pretty low, but expected. The Lupron is doing its job. I have to confess that I cheated and Karen and I ate our celebratory steak the weekend before my bloodwork as we were anticipating good results.
This last Thursday Karen and I drove to Jacksonville in time to get there at 8am for an 8:30 apt with Dr. Bill, my radiation oncologist. He was happy with my progress and alleviated some of the concerns about the possibility of me being anemic. I will not check in with him again for another year.
My last 6-month injection of Lupron was in April, so theoretically sometime around October my body will slowly begin to return to normal levels of testosterone and hopefully many of the side effects of the Lupron will dissipate over the next several months. I am looking forward to having more energy and fewer hot flashes.
Again, thank you for your continued prayers and support. God has been so good through this entire journey.
David
