Site created on January 10, 2019

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

Our dear brother-in-law Dave Wiley ( my sister Karen's husband. She passed away in 2010 of lung cancer) has been diagnosed with Glioblastoma .He had surgery in late November and will begin  Radition treatment 5 days a week and Chemo pills daily for the next 6 years. The therapy will begin this coming Sunday and will last 6 weeks as part of phase one.   His speech was affected but is currently working with a speech therapist and showing improvement. He gets easily confused so we are taking all interaction very slowly. His appetite has been excellent and we are very happy for that as we prepare for chemo.
We will write updates  two to three times a week   We appreciate all the prayers and positive energy coming our way as we begin  this journey .

Journal entry by kassie jones

Good morning friends and family,
Our dear brother-in-law Dave’s journey is over. He passed this morning at 1 AM. We will miss him so much but we are now envisioning his happy reunion with Karen.  Thank you again for all the prayers and support during the difficulties Dave had to endure with a disease no person should ever have to experience, glioblastoma.

Spread your wings and fly my angel
Your life has touched us all
Your wings so very delicate
But your spirit conquers all

You gave us so much joy on earth
But God now reclaims his prize
Spread your wings and fly my angel
Let your wings take to the skies

We will miss you dearly, but your
Transition is complete
Your wings are now an angel’s
Back home you must retreat
