Journal entry by Greg Kettering —
Yesterday was the care conference. Not as useful as the Regions Hospital, but we know Dad has 2 more weeks of therapy. We also know he will be landing in an assisted facility that has 24hr care.
Tomorrow he sees his cardiologist, just an after care appointment. However, today he had a low blood pressure moment. So that works out well.
He remains red-tagged on his walker, cannot go about or transition without a stand-by person helping. I ate dinner with him last night. He's eating like a horse, just short of licking the plates.
He met a man from the old neighborhood. He had a stroke, so the left side don't work, but he's as sharp ever. They eat together and chat about the old days. It's a good deal for them both. The rest of the unit isn't much for moving about or talking.
Dad can hold a cordial conversation, but recent events and anything deeper pushes his limits.
He's had more visitors in the last few days. Thank you all for coming.
