Dave’s Story

Site created on March 2, 2022

Our Dad has battled dementia and the  effects of a traumatic brain injury since August 2019.   On Wednesday February 23, 2022, he had  what we think was a seizure and became unresponsive. We brought him home with hospice support and are loving him to his next home. We created this CaringBridge website to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

Journal entry by Julie Smith

Dear Lord, I can hear the golden bells ringing and the angels singing for my Dad today. Thank You for Your infinite grace and mercy that leads to a land beyond the river that they call the sweet forever. We will all sing in the glory hallelujah Jubilee. Please help all who are suffering today take comfort in Your arms. We praise Your Precious Name. Amen

There's a land beyond the river
That they call the sweet forever
And we only reach that shore by faith's decree
One by one we'll gain the portals
There to dwell with the immortals
When they ring the golden bells for you and me

Don't you hear the bells now ringing
Don't you hear the angels singing
'Tis the glory hallelujah Jubilee
In that far off sweet forever
Just beyond the shining river
When they ring the golden bells for you and me

I didn't know this hymn. My Mom told me it was my great grandmother's favorite. I added a Spotify link if you want to listen.
