Daryl’s Story

Site created on January 24, 2020

Tuesday January 14, 2020, Daryl contacted his middle daughter Rebecca to take him to the emergency room due to him not being able to handle the pain in his right leg any longer. He googled his symptoms, which took him to a Mayo Clinic website and according to that it was a blood clot. At the hospital they confirmed he had a blood clot in his right leg. Due to the severity of the clot, they rushed him to St. Mary's in Rochester via ambulance.

Newest Update

Journal entry by Brianna Morse

Dad was moved to a nursing home in Rochester today. He is there for the rehab/therapy portion of it. Dads house is not handicap accessible, neither is my sister or I’s house.. The only option would be my grandparents house and they are back in Arizona for a few weeks. My middle sister and I have full time jobs plus families of our own (I being almost 8 months pregnant as well) and my youngest sister is a senior in high school plus has a job. So we feel this was best for now, and dad will continue to get the care he needs. Bad thing is, he cannot leave or have visitors until further notice due to a positive testing of Coronavirus today in Olmstead county.

Today he went and got a new cast put on before he left the hospital, the doctor said the wound is healing nicely! So that’s a plus. I will update again soon!
