Darrel’s Story

Please share and spread this as much as possible!

Hello and welcome to our CaringBridge website for our Dad, Darrel Peterson.  We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.  We'll work on providing updates in the "Journal" here and will also post updates to Facebook and GoFundMe as well.

My dad is probably the most chill, laidback, honest and caring guy you can meet and he really needs some special attention right now.

We found out yesterday (January 5th) that dad's brain tumor has come back after less than 6 months of completing his 1-year of chemotherapy.  All of his MRI scans from January 2022 through October 2022 had been clear, he even wanted to stop doing his chemo treatment since it seemed to have been cleared out.  This time dad was equally as shocked as everyone else since he couldn't "feel" that it was back this time unlike back in 2021.

This will be his 3rd round fighting this brain cancer and this feels like the scariest one of them all now.  I'll do my best to keep this and other sources updated as we learn more through the process.

Below are links for his GoFundMe account and a my Venmo to help dad pay for medical, travel and living expenses associated to this fight.  Financial support that anyone is able to provide, whether you know dad directly, indirectly through family members or maybe you don't even know him but feel like you'd like to donate - will be greatly appreciated to help him fight this!

God in His mercy called Darrel home early this morning. His passing was peaceful and he is now free if the pain. We will all miss him greatly but we rejoice in his heavenly homecoming.
