Journal entry by Diana Anglin —
There are no words to describe how perfect our friends made Dan's celebration of life.
I'm so grateful to so many people. I can only name a few in this short blog.
Thank you to the Werths for welcoming 'townies' with open arms so we could all gather at Dan's favorite place on earth...the dock.
Thank you to Rob Curci for setting up the speaker and playing music.
Thank you to Jen Curci and David Hough for preforming the flag ceremony. There were no dry eyes on the dock.
Thank you to the Lucas' for captaining and first mating my ship for the parade. Also, thank you to the Bilderbacks and the countless others who allowed complete strangers to board your vessel. You helped him keep his promise for a boat ride at Horsetooth
Thank you to the Woods for opening up your beautiful home so we could all gather for nurishment and libations as well as my amazing friends who helped put the event together and continue to listen to my stories.
Most of all, I want to thank my amazing schmoopies, Jagger, Kyuss, and Ashley making this day a priority for eachother. You are my strength and I hope I can return to being your strength very soon.
There are so many great moments captured from Monday, but I can only post 5 pictures and 1 video. Fortunately I have a friend who makes a hobby of video creation. I will be using his talents to put something great together for all of us.
In the mean time, there are really only two things to explain for the pictures and the video. Most people are looking for eagles or dragon flies, but I knew the random Godzilla post on social media was a special message. It means protection.
The video may be harder for most to understand. Dan was a military brat who had wonderlust. In the first 5 years of our marriage we moved on average every 9 months...no joke...I calculated it! I told him the best thing to do for a child was to grow roots. So he did.
We both said it didn't matter where we were as long as we were together. One final note, I believe finding a penny means you are on the right path. Dan was my lucky penny and this Irish girl was his four leaf clover.
