Journal entry by Shannon Welty —
So far, Daniel’s pain has been much more manageable this time. Usually he needs to lay down a lot in the beginning, but this time he’s been upright almost all day. He’s also not needing to roll from side to side at night. It’s been quite amazing.
Yesterday he woke with an unusual amount of drainage almost seeping through his dressing. We were in close communication with the doctor’s office and they asked us to change the dressing and take photos for them.
We were able to go to the plastic surgeon today and they determined it was a surface bleed. It appeared that one of the stitches had come out. So a steri strip did the trick. They also added an ace wrap for some compression. We were glad to get this figured out while we’re still here.
We’re thankful for your prayers and support!
