Dan has passed peacefully from this world. Dan and Stefanie's community supported them so beautifully this past weekend.  Sunday morning began with a premiere of an unaccompanied piece that Dan completed just before the pandemic shutdown began. Rebecca Ray performed a very special premiere of the lovely work. 

A couple hours later they were serenaded by friends from their church who sang Dan's favorite hymns, followed by a Zoom with family and friends who shared stories and said goodbye.  A dear friend stayed the night to help Stefanie and will be with her again tonight. Stefanie sat by Dan all night to hold his hand and to administer his medications every two hours. 

This morning was taken up with visits from the nurse and the CNA. He also had brief visits from two very dear friends. He was not speaking at that time but he could hear everything and was aware of who was there.  Stefanie found him laying peacefully when she returned from stepping out for a chat with her neighbors who had just returned with Wolfy. The way he loved and cared for both Stefanie and Wolfy continued through the end.
