Journal entry by Drew Evangelista

Daniel's home from CHOA 🙌 (four weeks to the day!) after collapsing on the practice field due to a complete surprise - a congenital (birth) arteriovenous malformation (AVM), nothing sports or injury related. He's still swollen from having his lid put back on, on Monday, but is doing great! He's so happy to be home and see his puppy dog. 🐕

He is back home 🏡 after removing the AVM & 2 blood clots, 3 head procedures (one life-saving, two scheduled) and a case of pneumonia. The surgery results and recovery has gone as well as we could have possibly hoped. There is zero chance of this reoccurring as they fully removed the issue.

He's off to a month of Day Rehab at CHOA from 9am-3pm on weekdays and likely back to school in January.🤞
